A total of 247,586 domains were newly registered across 446 TLDs. The most popular TLDs and their distribution are as follows:

  • .com: 137,130 domains (55.4% of total registrations)
  • .xyz: 18,065 domains (7.3%)
  • .top: 11,653 domains (4.7%)
  • .org: 7,471 domains (3.0%)
  • .net: 6,974 domains (2.8%)

Other TLDs, including .online, .site, .store, and .info, collectively accounted for 16% of the registrations, while smaller TLDs contributed to the diversity of the domain registration landscape.


2. Top 5 TLD Registrar Analysis

The .com TLD remains the dominant choice, accounting for 137,130 newly registered domains, representing 55.4% of all registrations. The top registrars for .com domains are:

  • GoDaddy: 30,475 domains (22.2%)
  • Namecheap: 13,019 domains (9.5%)
  • dot holding inc: 12,487 domains (9.1%)
  • Squarespace: 7,396 domains (5.4%)
  • Hostinger: 7,006 domains (5.1%)

Smaller registrars collectively handled 34.2% of .com registrations, showcasing significant market diversity.


b) Newly Registered .xyz Domains

The .xyz TLD has seen steady growth in popularity over the past few days, driven by special promotions from GMO Internet, Alibaba Cloud, and other providers.

A total of 18,065 .xyz domains were registered. The top registrars for .xyz domains are:

  • GMO Internet: 10,070 domains (55.7%)
  • GoDaddy: 1,841 domains (10.2%)
  • Namecheap: 1,613 domains (8.9%)
  • Dynadot: 905 domains (5.0%)
  • Alibaba Cloud: 816 domains (4.5%)
