1. Newly Registered Domains: Global Distribution Analysis

ABTdomain analyzed 1000 TLDs and found 448 TLDs with newly registered domains, recording a total of 230,276 newly registered domains. The data shows that traditional gTLDs continue to dominate the market, with .com maintaining its leadership position.

The top 5 TLDs by registration volume were:

  • .com: 112,575 domains (48.9%)
  • .xyz: 21,524 domains (9.3%)
  • .top: 13,639 domains (5.9%)
  • .org: 7,845 domains (3.4%)
  • .online: 6,973 domains (3.0%)

These five TLDs account for 70.5% of all newly registered domains, highlighting the continued preference for established and recognized domain extensions. The remaining TLDs collectively represent 29.5% of registrations, with extensions like .info, .store, .site, .net, and .bond each accounting for less than 3% of the total.


2. Top 5 TLDs by Volume of Newly Registered Domains

a) .com Newly Registered Domains

On March 11, 2025, ABTdomain recorded 112,575 newly registered .com domains. These registrations were primarily made on March 10, 2025, as noted in the data.

b) .xyz Newly Registered Domains

ABTdomain recorded 21,524 newly registered .xyz domains on March 11, 2025. These domains were registered primarily on March 9 and 10, 2025.

The market for .xyz domains is heavily dominated by a single registrar:

  • Alibaba Cloud: 547 domains (2.5%)

The remaining registrars collectively account for just 10.8% of the market. GMO Internet’s dominant position in the .xyz space is remarkable, controlling nearly three-quarters of all new registrations for this TLD.

On March 11, 2025, ABTdomain recorded 6,973 newly registered .online domains. These registrations occurred between March 9 and March 11, 2025.
