In June 2025, ABTdomain recorded significant domain registration activity across various TLDs (Top-Level Domains). This report analyzes the distribution of newly registered domains by TLD and examines the market share of domain registrars for the top 5 TLDs registered between June 02 and June 08, 2025.

1. Newly Registered Domains TLD Distribution Analysis

During the analyzed week, ABTdomain tracked a total of 1,677,440 newly registered domains across 521 different TLDs. The .com extension continues to dominate the market, representing nearly half of all registrations.

The data clearly shows that .com remains the preferred choice for domain registrations, with almost half of all new registrations. The newer TLDs like .top and .xyz are showing strong performance, collectively accounting for over 15% of all new registrations during this period.


2. Newly Registered Domains Registrar Distribution Analysis

The registrar market for newly registered domains shows significant competition among major players. In total, new domains were registered through 634 different registrars during the analyzed period.

2. Top 5 TLDs by Volume of Newly Registered Domains

a) .com Newly Registered Domains

The .com TLD saw 789,743 new domain registrations during June 02-08, 2025, representing 47.1% of all newly registered domains in the period.

GoDaddy dominates the .com registration market with almost one-fifth of all new .com domains. The top five registrars combined account for nearly 48% of all new .com registrations, while the remaining 37.6% is distributed among numerous other registrars.

b) .top Newly Registered Domains

The .top TLD recorded 140,594 new domain registrations during the analyzed period, representing 8.4% of all newly registered domains.

  • GoDaddy: 21,048 domains (15.0%)
  • Wdomain: 14,606 domains (10.4%)
  • Namesilo: 11,003 domains (7.8%)
  • West.cn: 9,206 domains (6.5%)

Eranet is the clear leader in .top domain registrations, controlling over one-third of the market. Unlike the .com space, the .top TLD shows more concentration, with the top five registrars handling 75.5% of all new .top domain registrations.

c) .xyz Newly Registered Domains

The .xyz TLD saw 118,679 new domain registrations during the week, accounting for 7.1% of all newly registered domains.

GMO Internet has a commanding lead in the .xyz registration market, handling nearly half of all new .xyz domains. The top five registrars combined account for 77.9% of all new .xyz registrations, showing high market concentration in this TLD.

d) .org Newly Registered Domains

The .org TLD recorded 51,140 new domain registrations during the analyzed period, representing 3.0% of all newly registered domains.

Namecheap leads the .org registration market, followed closely by GoDaddy. Together, these two registrars handle over one-third of all new .org domains. The top five registrars account for 56.4% of all new .org registrations, with a large portion (43.6%) distributed among other registrars.

e) .online Newly Registered Domains

The .online TLD saw 45,441 new domain registrations during the week, representing 2.7% of all newly registered domains.
