On February 24, 2025, ABTdomain analyzed the distribution of newly registered domains across various TLDs and registrars. This report highlights registration trends for popular domain extensions such as .com, .top, and .xyz. The data includes registrations recorded on February 22, February 23, and February 24, 2025.

1. TLD Distribution Overview

ABTdomain analyzed 1,004 TLDs and identified 408 TLDs with newly registered domains, recording a total of 142,993 newly registered domains.

The distribution of top TLDs is as follows (sorted by domain count):

• .com: 76,039 domains (53.2% of total registrations)
• .top: 7,509 domains (5.3%)
• .xyz: 5,005 domains (3.5%)
• .net: 4,886 domains (3.4%)
• .org: 4,639 domains (3.2%)
• .online: 4,044 domains (2.8%)
• .store: 3,777 domains (2.6%)
• .info: 2,653 domains (1.9%)
• .site: 2,634 domains (1.8%)
• .shop: 2,477 domains (1.7%)

Other TLDs collectively accounted for 29,330 domains, representing 20.5% of total registrations. The .com TLD continues to dominate the market, while .top and .xyz remain popular alternatives.

2. Top Registrars for Popular TLDs

a) Newly Registered .com Domains

For the 76,039 newly registered .com domains, the following registrars held the largest shares:

• GoDaddy: 16,633 domains (21.9%)
• Namecheap: 7,828 domains (10.3%)
• Squarespace: 4,778 domains (6.3%)
• Hostinger: 4,613 domains (6.1%)
• Tucows: 3,532 domains (4.6%)

The remaining 35.4% of .com registrations were distributed among other registrars.

b) Newly Registered .top Domains

The 7,509 newly registered .top domains were distributed among the top registrars as follows:

• Gname: 1,412 domains (18.8%)
• Namesilo: 1,195 domains (15.9%)
• Dynadot: 1,110 domains (14.8%)
• Chengdu West Dimension Digital Technology Co. Ltd: 930 domains (12.4%)
• Alibaba Cloud: 831 domains (11.1%)

Other registrars collectively accounted for 2,031 domains, representing 27.0% of the total.

c) Newly Registered .xyz Domains

A total of 5,005 newly registered .xyz domains were recorded. The top 5 registrars accounted for 65.4% of these registrations:

• Namecheap: 1,037 domains (20.7%)
• GoDaddy: 682 domains (13.6%)
• Dynadot: 604 domains (12.1%)
• Alibaba Cloud: 542 domains (10.8%)
• Spaceship: 407 domains (8.1%)

Other registrars collectively accounted for 1,733 domains, representing 34.6% of the total.

d) Newly Registered .net Domains

For the 4,886 newly registered .net domains, the top 5 registrars were:

• GoDaddy: 1,030 domains (21.1%)
• Namecheap: 685 domains (14.0%)
• Tucows: 494 domains (10.1%)
• Squarespace: 352 domains (7.2%)
• Hostinger: 243 domains (5.0%)

The remaining 42.6% of .net registrations were distributed among other registrars.

e) Newly Registered .org Domains

A total of 4,639 newly registered .org domains were recorded, with the top registrars being:

• GoDaddy: 904 domains (19.5%)
• Namecheap: 656 domains (14.1%)
• Squarespace: 401 domains (8.6%)
• Cloudflare: 302 domains (6.5%)
• Tucows: 264 domains (5.7%)

The remaining 45.5% of .org registrations were distributed among other registrars.
