On May 14, 2025, ABTdomain recorded significant domain registration activity across various TLDs (Top-Level Domains). This report analyzes the distribution of newly registered domains by TLD and examines the market share of domain registrars for the top 5 TLDs.

1. Newly Registered Domains: Global Distribution Analysis

ABTdomain analyzed 995 TLDs and found 461 TLDs with newly registered domains, recording a total of 242,640 newly registered domains. The data shows that .com continues to dominate the domain registration landscape, accounting for more than half of all new registrations.

2. Top 5 TLDs by Volume of Newly Registered Domains

a) .com Newly Registered Domains

The .com TLD continues to be the most popular choice for domain registrations, with 127,262 new domains registered on May 13, 2025, accounting for 52.4% of all new registrations.

The top 5 registrars together control about 50.7% of the market, while the remainder is distributed among various other registrars, which collectively handle 31.8% of .com registrations.

b) .top Newly Registered Domains

The .top TLD is the second most popular extension, with 22,494 new domains registered, representing 9.3% of all new registrations for the reporting period.

The .org TLD ranks fourth with 7,974 newly registered domains, representing 3.3% of all new registrations recorded during this period.

The .online TLD completes the top 5 with 7,945 newly registered domains, accounting for 3.3% of all new domain registrations in this period.
