On August 7, 2025, ABTdomain recorded significant domain registration activity across various TLDs (Top-Level Domains). This report analyzes the distribution of newly registered domains by TLD and examines the market share of domain registrars for the top 5 TLDs.

1. Newly Registered Domains: Global Distribution Analysis

ABTdomain analyzed 992 TLDs and found 444 TLDs with newly registered domains, recording a total of 242,263 newly registered domains. The distribution shows a clear dominance of traditional TLDs, with .com maintaining its leadership position.

The data clearly demonstrates that .com continues to be the preferred choice for domain registrations, accounting for over half of all new registrations. The newer TLDs like .top, .online, and .yachts are showing notable growth, collectively representing over 15% of new registrations.


2. Top 5 TLDs by Volume of Newly Registered Domains

a) .com Newly Registered Domains

The .com TLD remains the most popular choice for new domain registrations with 123,326 new domains registered. This represents 50.9% of all newly registered domains recorded by ABTdomain on August 7, 2025.

GoDaddy maintains its dominance in the .com space, capturing nearly one-fifth of all new registrations. The top 5 registrars collectively account for 48% of all new .com domains, with the remaining 52% distributed among numerous smaller registrars, highlighting the competitive nature of the .com registration market.

b) .top Newly Registered Domains

The .top TLD secured the second position with 18,693 newly registered domains, representing 7.7% of the total registrations on August 7, 2025.
