On October 2, 2025, ABTdomain recorded significant domain registration activity across various TLDs (Top-Level Domains). This report analyzes the distribution of newly registered domains by TLD and examines the market share of domain registrars for the top 5 TLDs.

1. Newly Registered Domains: Global Distribution Analysis

ABTdomain’s analysis shows that on October 2, 2025, a total of 233,357 domains were newly registered across 465 active TLDs. The .com TLD continues to dominate the domain registration landscape, capturing 53.3% of all new registrations with 124,422 domains registered.

The top 10 TLDs account for 85.6% of all newly registered domains, while the remaining 455 TLDs collectively represent just 14.4% (33,595 domains). This distribution highlights the continued dominance of established TLDs, with .com maintaining its strong market leadership position.


2. Top 5 TLDs by Volume of Newly Registered Domains

a) .com Newly Registered Domains

With 124,422 newly registered domains on October 2, 2025, .com continues to be the most popular TLD in the domain market. This represents more than half (53.3%) of all newly registered domains on this date.

The top 10 registrars account for 62.8% of all .com registrations, while other registrars collectively handle 37.2% (46,254 domains). GoDaddy maintains a clear leadership position in the .com space, registering nearly one in five new .com domains.

b) .top Newly Registered Domains

The .top TLD secured the second position with 19,018 newly registered domains, representing 8.1% of all new domain registrations on October 2, 2025.

The .top TLD market is highly concentrated, with two major players – GoDaddy and West.cn – controlling 65% of all new registrations. Together, the top 5 registrars handle 84.7% of all new .top domain registrations, indicating a much more concentrated market than what we see with .com domains.

c) .org Newly Registered Domains

The .org TLD ranks third with 10,744 newly registered domains, capturing 4.6% of the total new domain registrations recorded on October 2, 2025.

Dynadot shows remarkable dominance in the .org space, handling over one-third of all new .org registrations. The top 5 registrars collectively manage 69.9% of all new .org domains, with the remaining 30.1% distributed among other registrars.

d) .info Newly Registered Domains

With 8,994 newly registered domains, .info secured the fourth position among TLDs, representing 3.9% of all new domain registrations on October 2, 2025.

Namecheap shows significant strength in the .info TLD market, handling approximately one-third of all new registrations. The top 5 registrars account for 79.1% of all new .info domains, while other registrars collectively manage the remaining 20.9% (1,876 domains).

e) .online Newly Registered Domains

The .online TLD completes the top 5 with 8,620 newly registered domains, representing 3.7% of the total new domain registrations on October 2, 2025.
